VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Since opening its doors in 1972, community members and volunteers have contributed invaluable support to Next Move’s mission of serving families and individuals experiencing homelessness. Our staff and clients are grateful for the care and commitment of community members, and our team strives to provide rewarding volunteer experiences for both individuals and groups.

Individual Volunteer Opportunities

Next Move volunteer opportunities offer structured service opportunities through our children’s services, community donation center, and family shelter kitchen. We Gare always developing additional volunteer opportunities, so feel free to contact us regarding which options best fit your interests.

Group Volunteer Projects 

Next Move is eager to offer service opportunities with significant impact by hosting corporate, school, youth, church and other volunteer groups of 10-15 people at our family shelter and community donation center. We can accommodate smaller or larger groups and individuals for special projects.

General Information and Requirements:

• Prospective volunteers must attend a 30-minute  orientation to learn about Next Move’s history, programs, and volunteer opportunities and requirements.
• Volunteers must be at least 16 years old to participate. Volunteers under 18 must have signed parental consent
• Volunteers must be at least 18 years old to participate at Francis House Center.
