SACRAMENTO, CA, January 3, 2017 – Next Move and WEAVE announced they have teamed up to provide shelter for women and families who are victims of domestic violence.
Both organizations are committed to ensuring those in vulnerable living environments, including homelessness, move toward self-sufficiency and stability. Next Move has space from a program that they no longer had funding for, and WEAVE has program funding but needs space to house their clients.
“Next Move’s mission footprint in Sacramento will be broadened by its relationship with WEAVE,” said Tricia Rosenbaum, Executive Director of Next Move. “In our region, it is well known that there is a significant gap in affordable housing availability. By partnering on this project, we will be able to help additional clients that are in need of support – this is such a great win-win for our organizations.”
WEAVE will use the property owned by Next Move to house one or more families while they participate in WEAVE programs, and work toward a new life and a stable housing situation.
Goodwill Sacramento Valley & Northern Nevada, a partner of Next Move, invested over $50,000 to refurbish the facility and prepare it for occupancy, which will be just after the start of the new year.
