Ken Gosney, Goodwill Appointee
President & CEO – Goodwill
Ken Gosney is a dedicated leader with a wealth of experience in both education and non-profit management. Currently serving as the President and CEO of Goodwill Industries of Sacramento Valley and Northern Nevada, Ken brings a deep understanding of community needs and effective organizational strategies to the table. With 17 years spent in public education, including a 12-year tenure as a high school principal, he has demonstrated a strong commitment to empowering individuals and fostering positive change. Additionally, Ken has served for 9 years as a non-profit CEO, further honing his skills in strategic planning and resource management. Ken is passionate about giving back to the community and finds fulfillment in serving on the Next Move Homeless Services board. He strongly resonates with the organization’s mission of supporting the most vulnerable members of our communities.
Doni Curkendall, Director & Goodwill Appointee
Executive Vice President of Operations – The Better Meat Co.
Doni’s driving passion in life is to use the power of business to help solve social problems. Born in Mexico City, she moved to the U.S. at the age of seven, and quickly decided she wanted to dedicate her life to making a positive difference. Doni is the Executive VP of Business Operations at The Better Meat Co., a B2B startup company utilizing the power of fermentation to create alternative protein ingredients that are both nutritious and sustainable. Prior to that, she served as VP of Operations of Goodwill Industries where she worked short of a decade helping people with disadvantages achieve self-sufficiency. Doni earned her MBA from California State University, during which time she also served as a career mentor for Women’s Empowerment, an organization helping homeless women gain meaningful employment. In her spare time, Doni serves on the board of directors of Goodwill Industries of Sacramento Valley & Northern Nevada, Inc. and Next Move Homeless Services, Inc., serves as a mentor for various organizations and educational entities, hikes with her fiance, Brian, and their dog Penny Lane, and, as their dog’s name implies, loves listening to The Beatles.
Doug Bayless, Vice Chair & Goodwill Appointee
President – Bayless Properties, Inc.
Doug has worked as a real estate broker and developer entitling projects since 1985 here in Sacramento. His specialty is residential development projects. He works with apartment developers, including those specializing in affordable housing, and single family home builders. He estimates that over his career, he has sold land and lots approved for 30,000 or more units.
He raised his family (4 children) here in Sacramento and they all still live in the area. He has coached decades of children’s sports, served on the school board of a local parochial school, served on a food bank board, Next Move and Goodwill boards.
Mike Caselli, Director
Vice President/Relationship Manager – F&M Bank
Mike Caselli joined the board after doing several benefit gigs for Francis House at The Torch Club with his band The Count. His “day job” was working for multiple financial institutions including Wells Fargo, JP Morgan and Mechanics Bank. He retired from F&M Bank after 42 years in the financial services industry. In addition to being a Next Move board member he is also on the board of The Tower District and is a tract representative for the Northern Sierra Summer Homeowners Association. He lives in Land Park with his wife Nancy.
